Shalev's Bar Mitzvah

We're so happy you'll be joining us for Shalev's Bar Mitzvah on December 29/30, 2017 in Tzur Hadassah, Israel. This page is a work in progress with tips and recommendations for anyone planning the trip. While Tzur Hadassah feels pretty remote, it's actually quite centrally located to use as a base for travel around the the central region. Likewise, we are only 25 minutes from Jerusalem so if staying in the city suits you, then it's only a quick cab ride to the bar mitzvah festivities.

Tzur Hadassah is located about 20 km southwest of Jerusalem in the Judean Hills, INSIDE the green line, meaning it is in Israel proper and not inside the Palestinian Authority. It is also a 45-60 minute drive from the airport. The kiddish on Friday night, the aliyah l'torah ceremony and the reception will take place at our synagogue, Kehilat Tzur Hadassah.

On Friday evening we will gather at Kehilat Tzur Hadassh for a kabbalat shabbat service at 5:30 pm and dinner to follow for out of town visitors at our home, a three minute drive from the synagogue. All our welcome.

Saturday afternoon service will begin at 4:00 pm and the reception will be held in a tented area outside of the synagogue following havdalah.

Sunday morning, out of town guests are invited for a bagel breakfast at our home starting at 9:00 am.
